Make-A-Wish® Southern Alberta wish child, Grace, was granted her wish to have a real-life playhouse on Tuesday, November 14.  Grace is a shy and sweet 8 year old who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia. With a very specific wish, Grace’s eyes lit up as she described her playhouse with a loft, windows, a play kitchen and purple walls. The team at Morrison was up for the task and starting designing a one-of-a-kind two storey playhouse.

Over the course of 8 weeks, Morrison was hard at work making Grace’s wish come true; digging a trench to run electrical, framing, painting purple walls, deck installation, interior decorating and the list goes on. Morrison’s staff as well as several of their everyday trade partners and suppliers were involved in making Grace’s wish come to life.

“We are very thankful to Morrison Homes for generously providing this playhouse to Grace.  We are so grateful to community partners like Morrison Homes who make it possible to grant wishes to children in Southern Alberta with life-threatening medical conditions.” says Kim Anthony, CEO, Make-A-Wish Southern Alberta. Morrison Homes has been a supporter of Make-A-Wish Southern Alberta for many years, and granted another playhouse wish in 2008.

“As an organization, we have a soft spot in our heart for what Make-A-Wish stands for and for the hope they bring to children and families in our community,” says Dave Gladney, CEO and President of Morrison Homes. “Building this playhouse for Grace has been a true privilege that has inspired our entire team and trade partners.”
