Live Every Day Like it’s the Weekend
You can spend your time relaxing in your yard or chilling on your patio, enjoying life in the Calgary suburbs.
Or you can choose to be active.
Your days can be filled with movement in New Brighton, a community designed with your fitness in mind.
At the centre of the community sits the New Brighton Club, a year-round recreation facility for the community’s residents. It’s built on a three-acre site and encompasses 6,500 square feet of space for programmed activities, meetings and events.
The community association offers fitness programs such as yoga and aerobics and it has parent and tot classes.
To get your heart rate up, you can enjoy some time on the tennis, volleyball and basketball courts in the summer and a full-sized outdoor rink in the winter.
Construction is also underway on the New Brighton Regional Athletic Park, due for completion in Spring 2015. The outdoor park will serve the entire southeast quadrant of Calgary and will be home to:
Four artificial-turf sports fields (two large enough for football and rugby; two for soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee and field hockey)
One natural-turf baseball diamond
Change room and washroom facilities
Pathway connections between fields and facilities
A regional trail to connect the park to the community
If you’re looking for something a little more leisurely, head out on the lilac and tree-lined boulevard. New Brighton Drive takes you through the community and past a beautiful park, open green spaces, gardens, the 20-acre Brighton Pond and more pathways.
It’s the perfect spot to run, cycle or stroll.
Children and the future
Our children discover new worlds when they’re given the freedom to play.
New Brighton has no shortage of ways to let their imagination loose. There’s a water play area, tot lots and playgrounds to let them revel and just be kids.
When it’s time to start thinking about their education, New Brighton has five sites available for future school development. In the meantime, children can attend the following schools:
Calgary Board of Education
Acadia, Kindergarten to Grade 6
David Thompson, Grades 5-9
Lord Beaverbrook, Grades 10-12
Calgary Catholic School District
St. Cecilia, French immersion, Kindergarten to Grade 6
St. Matthew, French immersion, Kindergarten to Grade 9
Blessed Cardinal Newman, Kindergarten to Grade 9
St. Albert the Great, Kindergarten to Grade 9
Bishop Grandin, Grades 10-12
The style of old England
There was something cozy and homey about old English neighbourhoods.
Here in New Brighton, homes come in different styles such as Colonial, Craftsman, Georgian, Victorian and Tudor.
Your home may feature masonry and latticework, dormer windows and decorative shutters. It could be accented with window boxes, arches, and ornamental handles and hinges on garage doors.
You may just as well be coming home to a cottage in the English countryside, although in reality it’s an amazing home on the outskirts of a bustling Canadian metropolis.
Where you need to be
New Brighton may find its inspiration in old England, but you’ll find all modern living, including convenient access to everyday necessities.
You’re just minutes away from shopping and other community services, including the new Calgary South Health Campus in Seton. McKenzie Towne’s High Street, a short walk on your connected pathway, helps you find groceries at Sobeys, a latte at Second Cup, a fast-food burger, a barber, a medical clinic, a doctor, banks and more.
Jump onto Deerfoot Trail for easy access to Calgary’s downtown core or connect to the rest of the city via Stoney Trail.
Moving to New Brighton will give you time to spend your life as you choose.
