Resetting a GFCI Outlet

If you notice that you have no power in outlets in a bathroom, or your kitchen, locate the outlet indicated in the video and follow these steps:

1. If the outlet with the 2 buttons has no light on then press the “RESET” button. A green light should turn on and power will be restored to the outlets in that room.

2. If a green light does not turn on then press the “TEST” button until you hear a click from the outlet (the “RESET” button will pop. Then consult our “Electrical Panel – What to do When Your Breaker Trips” video to reset the breaker.

3. Once the breaker is reset repeat step #1.
