Job Responsibilities

  • Be fully versed on specification inclusions for each community and the options potential and new homeowner have available to them
  • Meet and liaise with customers and new homeowners and assist them throughout the home purchase process
  • Report to and work with the Area Manager to provide excellent customer service
  • Able to work evenings and weekend

Job Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Sales or customer service experience would be an asset
  • Self motivated and hardworking individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations in a discreet and respectful manner and able to work with confidential information

Accounts Payable Clerk

The Position

Morrison Homes is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Calgary. This position will be a combination of accounts payable, general accounting and administration tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Full cycle accounts payable including invoice data entry and payment processing
  • Property tax payments and customer letters
  • Automobile fleet tracking including repairs and maintenance, insurance, driver list, etc.
  • Petro Canada/Home Depot card maintenance and tracking
  • Filing and other admin tasks as assigned
  • Assisting with reconciliations of Visa Statements

Job Qualifications

  • Education and knowledge of basic accounting
  • Two or more years experience in an Accounts Payable position
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Sage (Timberline) Accounting Software or similar programs such as QuickBooks, Simply Accounting or Great Plains Dynamics is required
  • Trustworthy and professional
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, but also work independently

Job Responsibilities:

  • Balance Sheet month-end reconciliations and journal entries
  • Recording Cost of Sales entries
  • Monthly financial reporting for both internal & external stakeholders
  • Budget to Actual expense variance reporting
  • Assist in budget preparation
  • Assist in yearly audit
  • Fixed Asset tracking & review
  • Insurance reporting
  • Cross-train with other positions in department

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education with a major in Accounting
  • 3+ years’ work experience in full cycle accounting
  • Good communication & organization skills
  • Ability to multi-task & work as part of a team
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience with accounting software required, Sage 300 CRE is considered an asset, but not required
  • Previous Construction Industry experience considered an asset but not required
  • Positive & ambitious attitude to learn

Controller

The Position

Morrison Homes is currently looking to fill the position of Controller. We are looking for a professionally designated accountant (CPA) with 3 or more years’ experience supervising the Accounting Manager and Accounting Department in full cycle accounting. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership qualities, be professional and personable, organized and have good communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervision of the Accounting Manager and Accounting Department including roles of Accounts Payable, Land Administration, Banking & AR Administration, Payroll/HR and full cycle Accounting
  • Financial Reporting including reviewing internal reporting requirements
  • Preparation of monthly external reporting requirements
  • Reviewing the monthly Balance Sheet packages
  • Working with the CFO to prepare the annual financial budget
  • Reporting budget to actual income statement variance results monthly
  • Preparation and overseeing the Annual Audit and Review Engagements for Calgary and Edmonton
  • Working with the CFO to update cash flow projections
  • Special projects
  • Other duties as required

Job Requirements

  • Professionally Designated Accountant (CPA, formerly CGA, CMA, CA)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Accounting Manager or Controller role leading an Accounting Department in full cycle accounting
  • Experience in the residential home building industry is an asset, but not required
  • Experience with Sage (Timberline) and ADP Software would be an asset, but not required
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook is required

The Position

Morrison Homes (Calgary) Ltd. is looking for a new Construction Site Assistant to join our team and begin your career. The chosen candidate will be responsible for working alongside and assisting the Site Supervisor during the construction of single family and semi attached homes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with and take direction from the Site Supervisor.
  • Work in the field not only with the Site Supervisor and Warranty Technician but also work and interact with our valued trade partners and vendors.
  • Will be asked to perform a variety of construction related tasks.
  • Ensure site cleanliness and the compliance of all health and safety requirements as directed by our Health & Safety officer.

Job Requirements

  • Previous construction experience would be an asset
  • Organized and the ability to multi-task
  • Self motivated and hardworking individual who can work independently in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision
  • Have great communication skills.
  • Must provide a clean drivers abstract.
