New Home Sales Assistant - Edmonton

The Position

Morrison Homes is looking for a New Home Sales Assistant to join our team in Edmonton.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be fully versed on specification inclusions for each community and the options potential and new homeowner have available to them
  • Meet and liaise with customers and new homeowners and assist them throughout the home purchase process
  • Report to and work with the Area Manager to provide excellent customer service
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Sales or customer service experience would be an asset
  • Self motivated and hardworking individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations in a discreet and respectful manner and able to work with confidential information
  • Well organized, detail oriented and the ability to multi-task and coordinate the various activities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively, take initiative as well as work well within a team environment and actively participate in team meetings

Payroll-HR Coordinator and General Accountant - Calgary

Morrison Homes is looking for a Payroll-HR Coordinator and General Accountant to join our team in Calgary.

The Position

Payroll Duties:

  • Processing semi-monthly payroll
  • Creating and distributing time sheets and mileage forms
  • New Hire employee orientations
  • Group benefits sign-up and management
  • Uploading payroll to the General Ledger monthly
  • Creating payroll budgets and reporting on variances
  • Maintaining payroll filing and new hire packages
  • Reconciling payroll accounts
  • Providing and preparing documentation for the annual audit
  • Working with managers on performance reviews and vacation tracking
  • Working with the Safety Supervisor on WCB and Insurance claims
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are current with labor standards

General Accounting Duties:

  • Responsible for month-end general ledger and bank reconciliations for various legal entities
  • Posting journal entries
  • Preparing month-end reporting packages
  • Filing requirements – GST, WCB and Income Tax Instalments
  • Accounts payable coverage
  • Monthly financial reporting and year-end preparation for the various legal entities
  • Working with other members of the accounting department in a team environment and cross training duties for vacation coverage
  • Other duties as required

Education & Skills

  • Accounting diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting role, including payroll for a medium to large size organization
  • Preference will be given to Payroll-HR Certified Candidates
  • Experience with ADP Software would be an asset
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook is required
  • Trustworthy and professional
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, but also work independently

Construction Coordinator - Calgary

Morrison Homes is looking for a Construction Coordinator to join our team in Calgary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Communicate with land developers, trade partners, internal departments, construction field team and City of Calgary
  • Manage project schedules; including weekly job updating
  • Scheduling:

Centralized scheduling of stake dates, framers, material (floor, joists, lumber, stairs, precasts), plumbing Rough-ins, finish carpenters

Review scheduling of cribbing, Interior rough Ins and Exterior Trades

  • Variety of tasks that change on a daily basis such as overseeing Permit Applications and follow through, Lot Inspection Monitoring, Job Files released to Trade Partners
  • Review weekly permit reports and manage timing of applications and trade correspondence.
  • Support the development of progress tracking and measurement for activities.
  • Set up and maintenance of scheduling program – templates, reports, notifications, etc.
  • Seasonal Coordination

Job Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with scheduling software an asset
  • Knowledge and/or experience in new home construction is a requirement
  • Self motivated and hardworking individual with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines
