Job Requirements

Graphic Designer (Calgary)

Morrison Homes is looking for an in-house Graphic Designer. As a top, award-winning builder, we’ve worked hard to build a reputation as the Homebuyer’s Best Friend™ and need an experienced, passionate, and detail oriented professional to help keep Morrison looking its best, while effectively communicating our brand promise.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Graphic Designer:

  • Updates and produces print material such as floorplan brochures and sales collateral using our in-house printer.
  • Helps develop branded spaces in our showhomes by designing and coordinating sales centre graphics.
  • Designs and coordinates creative assets for digital communications, including landing pages, email, social media, touchscreen and display advertising.
  • Helps develop and execute advertising creative, including direct mail, out-of-home, digital display, etc.
  • Coordinates, designs and executes signage, including wayfinding, lot signs and other POS signage.
  • Acts as point of contact for sales centre requests, including marketing collateral updates and production.
  • Ensures supplies, including pre-printed paper, folders and branded gifts are fully stocked.
  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with agencies, vendors and suppliers.
  • Updates website content, including copy and supporting graphics.
  • Ensures all marketing communications are aligned to Morrison brand standards.

  • Experience working in an agency environment considered an asset

Accounting Admin (Calgary)

Morrison Homes is looking for an Accounting Admin to join our team in Calgary. This position will be a combination of accounting and HR administration tasks.

Duties:

  • Processing purchase agreements
  • Maintaining relationships with area managers and respond to inquiries
  • Maintaining Possession list and track/notify on keys releasable
  • Processing Cancellations
  • Managing and processing design deposits
  • Depositing and processing customer deposits
  • Managing and updating customer deposit reporting and communication with the area manager on any overdue payments
  • Processing possession certificates, determining seasonal, and sending to the lawyers
  • Completing Statement of Adjustments and forwarding to lawyers and warranty team
  • HR Administration including preparing timesheets, mileage sheets/calculations, vacation tracking, home depot and petro card set up/tracking
  • Fleet tracking including repairs and maintenance, insurance, driver list, etc
  • Assisting with GST rebate forms - fill out and send to CRA
  • Assisting with GST return and payment preparation
  • Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Accounts Payable invoice entry
  • Assisting with reconciliations of Visa Statements

Education & Skills

  • Knowledge of accounting
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Sage (Timberline) Accounting Software an asset or similar programs such as QuickBooks, Simply Accounting or Great Plains Dynamics
  • Trustworthy and professional

Health and Safety Officer (Calgary)

Job Responsibilities

The Candidate with be responsible for Morrison Homes Health and Safety program, key responsibilities include: Conducting and facilitating both Internal as well as External COR Audits, Managing WCB claims and Modified Work program, Vehicle Inspections and Maintenance, Onboarding and New Hire Orientations, Bi-Weekly Safety Meetings, Quarterly Joint Work Site Health and Safety Committee Meetings, Managing the Company’s Emergency Response Plan, Guiding and educating staff in both Calgary and Edmonton. This position reports to both the Senior Manager of Field Operations.

Skill Requirements

The skills required for this position are the ability to work collaboratively with a team dedicated to exceptional customer service, well organized, detail oriented and the ability to multi-task and coordinate various activities:

  • Must currently hold NCSO designation.
  • Must hold a current Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Certified Health and Safety Consultant or a Certificate in Health, Safety and Environmental is considered an asset.
  • First Aid Instructor is considered an asset
  • General Understanding of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Regulation and Code.
  • Alberta WCB Claims Management.
  • Conducting Safety Meetings and Toolbox Meetings
  • Conducting Both Formal and Informal Inspections
  • Understand both Formal and Field Level Hazard Assessments.

Warranty Technician (Calgary)

THE POSITION

Morrison Homes is seeking a Construction Warranty Field Technician to join our Calgary team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for addressing post possession warranties, visually inspecting and performing hands-on repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct Pre and Post possession inspections
  • Communicate effectively with the trades persons on additional concerns and schedule warranty and trades repairs
  • Display accountability to follow through to completion

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Exhibit confidence by establishing relationships with customers and trades
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, rewarding environment
  • 3+ years of proven Site Superintendent or Warranty Technician experience in the new home industry is an asset
  • Experience utilizing software such as Punch List Manager is an asset
  • Must provide a clean driver’s abstract.
