If the lights on your HRV control panel are blinking or the panel is unresponsive, follow these simple steps to reset it:
Start by locating the HRV control panel in any bathroom. Press and hold the button on the panel for 5-10 seconds until the lights stop flashing. Afterward, you can press the HRV button to activate it again, adjusting it to your desired settings. The unit should now be working normally.
To clean your HRV, open the door by releasing the two clips on the top side of the unit. Once opened, the HRV will automatically shut off. Locate the filters on top of the core—remove them by pulling straight out. Clean the filters by rinsing them under warm water, avoiding soap or cleaning products. Allow them to drip dry in the sink (do not wring them out).
Next, carefully remove the core, which should be done at least every 6 months. Use caution, as the core weighs about 15 pounds. Rinse it in the shower with warm water, ensuring no soap or cleaning products are used. Once cleaned, reinstall the core first, then place the filters back on top of it. Close the HRV door and secure it with the clips. The HRV will turn back on within 1-3 minutes.
Regular maintenance of your HRV ensures optimal air circulation and efficiency in your home.
